Angela Carey - Owner

 

Hello, my name is Angela Carey. My work experience has primarily been in administrative roles where I have gained a lot of knowledge and experience of working with families and people from all backgrounds.

I have three children who are now grown up and 1 grandson called Ellis, who is 4 years old. Ellis attended the previous childcare provider called Wetherbees Preschool where he learnt through a lot of play and encouragement from the staff. Ellis so enjoyed and looked forward to going to Wetherbees Preschool. I felt Wetherbees was such a valuable part of Wetherby’s community that when I heard the preschool was to close I felt an urgent need to step in. Hence, I am now the new owner of Wetherbees!

I am really excited about this new venture and am looking forward to working with you all.

 

Louise Pedley - Manager

 

Hi, I’m Louise Pedley. I studied childcare at Harrogate College and hold a BTEC National Diploma in Early Years. After leaving college I worked as a Teaching Assistant at Spofforth CE Primary school for 10 years and also was Manager of Spofforth’s Preschool “Squiggles” for 4 years. In that time we were awarded a Highly Effective Setting award and I was also selected as a Lead Practitioner in Early Years for North Yorkshire. I now have 2 children aged 5 and 2 and have learned a huge amount through being a parent!

 

Kate Cruddas - Deputy Manager

 

Hello, I’m Kate Cruddas. I hold an NVQ level 3 in Childcare and Education. I have been a childcare practitioner for 20 years, having worked in an early years setting for 17 years. I’ve had various roles such as Over 2’s supervisor and Deputy Manager. I was Manager of Wetherbees Preschool for 2 years.

I have also enjoyed being a Nanny for families in their own home for children aged 9 months to 9 years.

 

Rebecca Simpson - Preschool Educator

 

Hi, I’m Rebecca and I am a mummy to a wonderful one year old boy. I am level 5 qualified and I am currently in my last year studying towards a degree in young children’s learning and development.

I have worked within the childcare sector for 8 years now, with children aged 0-5 years in a range of early years settings and gained lots of knowledge along the way.

Previous to having my son I have been a room leader and deputy room leader but have chosen to step down at the present so I can spend as much time with him as possible.
